The Friendship Inn is looking for Saskatoon’s help in restocking some of their food items.
The organization put out a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, outlining the need.
In addition to brown sugar, jam and peanut butter, the organization’s operations manager Thomas Baron said they need pancake mix, mixed frozen vegetables, breakfast items, gravy mixes and juice boxes.
“Since the Christmas season is over, (the) donations are not coming in as much as they once were,” he said. “This is every year, this is not new.”
Although they are running low on the specific food items, Baron said they never turn anyone away, and have back-up food just in case.
“It is getting low,” he said. “It’s not a huge, huge concern, but it’s definitely a concern. We do feed about 1000 people per day, so food does run out quite quickly at times.”
Anyone who wishes to donate can drop off their items at the Friendship Inn’s location at 619 20th Street West between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. seven days a week.
