Unifor is reporting that Regina police arrested four of its members at a picket line at the city’s Co-op oil refinery on Tuesday night.
The union announced the news on Twitter, insisting the four members were “peacefully picketing” at one of the refinery’s gates.
It said it’s disappointed by the arrests.
The union said in the tweet the arrests happened “while we continue discussions on the mediation process proposed by Premier Scott Moe.”
980 CJME is working to get confirmation from Regina police that the arrests did in fact happen.
The labour fight between Unifor and management at the Co-op oil refinery started with union members getting locked out on Dec. 5.
More to come.
