It was a busy weekend for Saskatoon police.
In four separate search warrants, the police were able to seize a fair amount of drugs, cash, cellphones and ammunition off the streets.
It all started when a 19-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were arrested Friday in a gas station parking lot in the 3200 block of Preston Avenue South.
Witnesses say they saw activity consistent with drug trafficking. When police searched the woman, they found two baggies of fentanyl. In total, around 11 grams were seized.
They also took 14 grams of cannabis and a ringing cellphone from the woman.
The man was found to be carrying methamphetamine, pharmaceuticals, more than $1,000 in cash and a cellphone, all of which were seized.
The search warrants were then carried out over the weekend in the 400 block of Hunter Road and Fairmont Drive, along with the 200 block of Kloppenburg Way and the 1200 block of Wright Crescent.
The Tactical Support, Guns and Gangs and Air Support units assisted in the investigation.
On Hunter Road, two men were taken into custody. Officers found 28.8 grams of fentanyl, 177 grams of cannabis, more than $3,000 in cash, four cellphones and drug paraphernalia at the home.
At the home on Kloppenburg Way, officers seized ammunition and three cellphones. The Wright Crescent search turned up around six grams of substances that were consistent to compounds found in psychedelic mushrooms. A large number of cellphones was found in the Fairmont Drive search.
The 19-year-old woman and 32-year-old man are facing charges that include trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Additionally, the 41-year-old man is charged with possession of methamphetamine. A 31-year-old man was also arrested and charged with possessing ammunition while prohibited.
