What do you think wins on Sunday? The Patrick Mahomes, fast-paced, lightning-quick, talented Kansas City Chiefs offence or the San Francisco 49ers’ tenacious defence with a well-rounded scoring attack?
“Defence wins championships” is the cliche, right?
But is it wrong? The New England Patriots win all the time with a strong defence that can shut things down. The Baltimore Ravens did it. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers did it in the CFL this year.
If you can turn over the ball and create havoc on the quarterback, you will win.
The 49ers can do that with much more consistency than the Chiefs can. The Green Bay Packers’ defence is a bit better than Kansas City’s and did you see what the 49ers did to the Pack in the NFC championship game?
I feel it’ll be a lot more of an aerial game by Jimmy Garoppolo and the Niners as the Chiefs will be ready for the run, or they should be.
Prediction:
Niners 27, Chiefs 24 with a dramatic fourth-quarter finish.
