RCMP members at the Indian Head detachment are asking for help finding two men who allegedly tried and failed to knock off an ATM from an Esso gas station in Wolseley early Tuesday morning.
The whole failed heist took no more than 30 seconds at about 4:20 a.m., the Mounties said in a media release.
The police service said two men rammed a long, white, heavy duty Ford truck in reverse into the gas station; they apparently hooked up a metal ramming device to its backend.
“The two (men) entered the store and connected a chain to an ATM that was secured to the floor of the building. They were not able to remove the ATM from the building and left immediately,” the release said.
“They were in and out of the building in 30 seconds and left with nothing.”
They also described the truck as having a crew cab, a long box, a black stripe that runs along the bottom and windows with tinted deflectors.
RCMP said one man “is heavy set and was dressed all in black. The other male was dressed in bright orange clothing. Both males were wearing masks over their faces.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Indian Head RCMP detachment at (306) 695-5200 and ask to speak with Sgt. Ryan Case.
