No Brady, no Manning, no Roethlisberger.
It’s a Super Bowl without one of those starting quarterbacks in the game for just the second time since 2003.
Jimmy Garoppolo and Patrick Mahomes may be starting a new wave of regulars to make the game.
The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs do battle in two weeks in the Super Bowl and they are two franchises who look like they have a bright future ahead.
Kansas City made it to the AFC championship game last year and this year won it. The Chiefs are just getting started, it would appear. The Niners are in the same boat, with a young coach, young quarterback and a dynamic rookie pass-rusher.
It’s hard to predict teams that will become consistent contenders. We thought the Eagles or Falcons or Panthers could become regulars in the NFC championship game or Super Bowl and they haven’t.
But these two teams seem different.
Overall, it’s refreshing to have the NFL championship game see two fresh faces and entertaining teams play for it all. I can’t wait.
