While NFL fans are still buzzing about Kansas City’s come-from-behind win over Houston on Sunday, I continue to be amazed at Aaron Rodgers of the Packers. The 12-year starter has his Green Bay team among the final four with little fanfare.
It takes a special athlete to play under the microscope. Rodgers replaced a Hall of Fame quarterback in Brett Favre in a market where football is everything.
Rodgers has delivered for Packers fans for well over a decade. Three years after becoming a starter, he led the Packers to a Super Bowl title in 2008. Even now at the age of 36 Rodgers is coming off a regular season where he had a 26-to-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio with a new head coach, Matt LaFleur.
Don’t get me wrong, 24-year-old Patrick Mahomes has been brilliant, but Rodgers (Mahomes’ senior by 12 years) has been part of a story that many fans either didn’t notice or just took for granted during the divisional playoffs.
