The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released linebacker Derrick Moncrief so he can pursue an NFL opportunity.
Moncrief spent the past three CFL seasons with the Roughriders.
In 2019, he recorded 69 defensive tackles, four special-teams tackles, four sacks, three interceptions and one forced fumble in 17 regular-season games. The 26-year-old product of Plattville, Ala., was named a West Division all-star and a CFL all-star.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound product of Oklahoma State University was set to become a free agent on Feb. 11.
