The first game of NFL wild-card weekend — or the last one — may be the toughest to call.
Both Buffalo and Houston finished the regular season with 10-6 records, and neither team has any recent notable playoff history to consider. I’ll simply go with the home side. Texans pivot DeShaun Watson has a decent touchdown-to-interception ratio of 26-12 and he should be comfortable in a playoff game at his home stadium.
The second game on Saturday has Tennessee in New England. Take the Patriots for obvious reasons.
On Sunday, Minnesota visits New Orleans in the first NFC wild-card matchup. The 13-win Saints should dominate.
Then there is Seattle and Philadelphia. This is another tough game to call. The Eagles are at home despite a nine-win season in the weak NFC East. Russell Wilson, who has plenty of big-game experience, should be able to lead his Seahawks to a road victory.
Houston, New England, New Orleans and Seattle will be your wild-card weekend winners.
