Wednesday marked the second-last day of TCU Place’s 48th annual Festival of Carols.
The festival sees school choirs perform around five songs during the lunch hour for anyone who wants to attend.
The Roland Michener school choir made up of Grade 3, 4 and 5 students started off Wednesday’s performances.
One of the school’s teachers, and the pianist for the choir, Warren Hay said the event is about spreading Christmas cheer.
“I think it’s just to bring Christmas spirit down into this city core and just to get people coming out to TCU Place,” he said.
The choir sang five songs including Cold Snap, Reindeer on the Roof, and Gunna Catch That Santa.
“They like to sing the more jazzy songs, like Gunna Catch That Santa,” said Hay. “The kids have lots of fun. They get super-excited, all gussied up and have fun doing it.”
The last day of the festival is Thursday with the first of three performances scheduled to start at noon.
