'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Firefighters were called to a home on Bayfield Cres. in Briarwood at around 11:30 Sunday night.
When they arrived they were met with heavy and continuous heat and smoke at every attempt to enter the house.
The failing structural integrity caused by the fire, pushed fire crews to go into defensive mode to attack the blaze.
The wind was helping to spread the fire.
It wasn’t brought fully under control until around 7:30 Monday morning.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The home has been labeled unsafe for entry and is considered a total loss at an estimated $550,000.
A cause hasn’t been determined but is under investigation by both the Saskatoon Fire Department and the police.
