A man is recovering in hospital after he was found laying in the middle of the road by Saskatoon police members, who believed him to be a victim of a hit-and-run.
Police say patrol officers came across the 40-year-old man at the intersection of 22nd Street West and Avenue P early Tuesday morning at 12:16.
A news release sent out later in the morning said it was believed the man was walking in the pedestrian crossing, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on Avenue P.
The man suffered serious injuries, but was taken to hospital in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said they believe the driver responsible later returned to the scene while officers were there.
No charges have been laid so far.
