The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Monster Energy Finals are in Saskatoon this weekend.
Twenty of the top-ranked bull riders in Canada will compete to finish their season with a bang. The winner gets $50,000 in prize money.
Maple Creek’s Jared Parsonage is currently ranked first in the country. He’s hoping to keep up his strong performance in his home province.
“The anticipation’s big. You’re looking forward to it, you’re excited, anxious, everything. It’s what we work towards all year,” he told 650 CKOM’s David Kirton.
Even though he’s proven his skills many times, he thinks anything could happen this weekend.
“Everybody there is capable of winning, there’s no doubt about it.”
However, the location should work in his favour.
“You always feel kind of like you’re home when you’re in Saskatchewan. The people are so supportive,” he said.
That same advantage will apply to many of his competitors, like second-ranked Dakota Buttar from Kindersley.
No matter who ends up winning, Parsonage thinks it will be a thrilling event.
“It’s going to be a really good watch, and it’s going to be a riding contest for sure.”
You can see all of the action at Sasktel Centre at 7:30 p.m on Friday and Saturday.
