Rush turned an 8-3 fourth quarter deficit into a 9-8 victory in its home opener.
RCMP were called to a report of shots fired in the Mikisiw residential area early Thursday, on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
Two men were found to be injured and taken to hospital by EMS. One of the men was pronounced dead and the second man was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
The initial investigation leads police to believe the incident was not random.
