If the forecast holds up, it should be a perfect day for the Santa Claus parade in Saskatoon on Sunday.
This year marks the 29th year of the annual parade. The parade starts at 1 p.m. on 19th Street by the Toys “R” Us building.
It then runs north along 3rd Avenue, then turns at 21st Street. It will continue eastbound to 4th Avenue, then turn westbound down 22nd Street.
At 1st Avenue the parade will head to the Midtown Plaza’s main entrance where Santa will get off his sleigh and enter Midtown to start the Christmas season.
Some downtown roadways will be affected by the parade.
Parking and lane restrictions will be in effect between 7 a.m. until around 3 p.m. The downtown area will be busy during this time, so parking restrictions will be in place.
There will be no access to the parade route between Idylwyld Drive, 19th Street, 4th Avenue, 22nd Street and 1st Avenue.
Anyone heading downtown Sunday is asked to allow extra time to reach their destination.
