Parts of Circle Drive were gridlocked Friday morning after freezing rain made roads extremely icy.
“It’s like a complete skating rink,” said Brock Bosker who drove up on a multi-vehicle crash on Circle Drive near 33rd Street. He said at least 10 vehicles were involved.
Bosker stopped to help clear the carnage which temporarily blocked the westbound lanes.
“Like there’s just vehicles all up and down Circle Drive.” “It’s a gong show,” he said.
Saskatoon police issued a release about the crash saying nobody was injured, and urged drivers to slow down.
Later in the morning, a plumbing and heating van flipped on Circle Drive at Taylor Street, restricting northbound traffic. Police said injuries were unknown.

Road conditions have since improved according to 650 CKOM’s traffic reporter Jay Thomas.
FREEWAY CONDITIONS IMPROVING: Salt trucks hard at work on freeways and major routes in city. Wet rather than icy on most priority 1 streets. Secondary roads and neighbourhood streets still very icy in places #yxe #yxetraffic

Meanwhile, west of Saskatoon a two vehicle crash shutdown a section of Highway 14. RCMP said one person was seriously hurt, noting icy conditions were a factor.
As of 9 a.m. a freezing rain warning remains in effect along Highway 16, including North Battleford, Saskatoon and Humboldt, and south into the Fort Qu’Appelle area.
