8:30 – Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital are both badly over capacity, and the Saskatchewan Health Authority says staff have spent the past few weeks struggling to keep up with the “extreme” pressure. After the NDP released internal memos from the SHA indicating the severity of the issues, the health authority issued a statement acknowledging the capacity problems and outlining what’s being done to alleviate the pressure. The SHA says a Command Centre has been activated to help manage patient flow and prioritize the safety of significantly ill patients by ensuring they have a bed and acute care. They’re also reviewing which patients can be safely sent home, and have asked the public to be aware of the situation and use walk-in mediclinics for non-emergency treatment. To help explain the current challenges in our hospitals, John is joined by Sharon Garrett, Vice President of Integrated Urban Health for the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

11:00 – A new study shows that swearing out loud during a workout can actually boost your performance and help relieve pain, but would you actually drop an f-bomb in the gym or another public setting? Swearing is more common than it’s ever been, with 66% of Millennials admitting they swear in the workplace. We want to know what you think about profanity! Do you swear often, or do you save the curse words for special occasions? Is swearing still considered offensive or inappropriate, or is it so commonplace that we just ignore it? Give us a call at 1-877-332-8255 and tell us what you think – but please watch your language!
12:00 – As producers struggle with trade restrictions from China, many are finding success trading with European countries instead. Chris Dekker is the president and CEO of the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership, and he joins Gormley to discuss the opportunities that exist in Europe and whether they might be a better long-term trading partner than China.
