There is a bit of light for the Jenkins family.
In a Facebook post Monday, Scott Jenkins said all the machines have been removed from his daughter Sydney and she is now doing demand feeding.
Jenkins said they got word that Sydney will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
Scott’s wife, Aly Jenkins, passed away during childbirth Oct. 20. Sydney was in critical condition and rushed into neonatal intensive care, where she needed 100 per cent breathing assistance.
Last week, Jenkins posted that Sydney had been showing signs of improvement.
On Saturday, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation announced it will be presenting a $10,000 gift for the funding of life-saving equipment in Aly’s name to the neonatal intensive care unit.
That gift was matched by the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, bringing the total to $20,000.
