Driver charged after crash knocks out power

A 27-year-old man has been charged after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a power poleĀ at 8th Street and Boychuk Drive around 11:30 Monday night, causing a massive power outage in some areas of the city.
Power was knocked out to roughly a dozen neighbourhoods, but Sask Power said most areas were brought back online around 6 a.m.
The University of Saskatchewan cancelled classes Tuesday morning because of the power outage, but classes resumed again in the afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle has been charged with impaired driving and exceed .08.
