Flu season is right around the corner, and starting today residents can do their part to protect themselves from illness.
As of Monday the influenza vaccine is available at public health clinics across the province, pharmacies and from some physicians and nurse practitioners.
The vaccine is available at no charge to those with a valid Saskatchewan Health Card. Anyone six months and older can receive the flu vaccine. Children five years old and younger must be vaccinated at a public health clinic.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority said the vaccine is especially important for pregnant women, young children, elderly people and persons with underlying health conditions.
