Monday’s election can’t come soon enough.
For this sports guy who took a few political science classes and once considered a career in politics if this whole radio thing didn’t work out, I do love election season.
It’s way shorter than a sports season, though sometimes it feels like campaigning begins right when the previous election ends, but it’s two months of polling and numbers and predictions and analysis. That is in the wheel house for a sports and political junkie.
Then election night. The buzz in a newsroom is something else to be around. In my career I’ve raced from a gathering of a candidate on the losing end, over to a young up-start politician on the winning side.
However, now that the news hat is gone and the sports hat is on, I’ll be at home watching the numbers and the percentages and see the winners, losers, upsets and just how bad the predictors got it all wrong.
It’s just like watching a season of football or hockey play out in one night.
I can’t wait!
