Thanksgiving weekend is a time when many families get together for big meals and a chance just to spend some time which each other.
For families with small children, it can be a challenge to keep the young ones entertained.
There are many options for family fun in the Saskatoon area, including corn mazes and pumpkin patches.
Nikki vanDuyvendyk with Dutch Growers in Saskatoon said they are very busy on Thanksgiving weekend as many families take in the pumpkin maze at the store.
“The pumpkin maze is basically a really large maze made of straw bales and we’ve got pumpkins everywhere. ”
vanDuyvendyk said there is no charge for the pumpkin maze, so it’s an affordable way for families to spend a nice day together.
“We’re just trying to create a stress-free environment and something that families can have a great experience at,” said vanDuyvendyk.
vanDuyvendyk also said they try to add some little extras to make the experience even more fun.
“We’ve got a little scavenger hunt were they can take a piece of paper and try to find different elements in the pumpkin maze, so creating a bit more fun with some games, and that sort of thing.”
