Saskatoon police have charged a 25-year-old man with assault with a weapon, after he allegedly hurt a taxi driver with a knife.
A news release from the police service said the incident happened just after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Holliston area, in the 2000 block of Park Avenue.
The accused “refused to pay his fare,” police said, adding that the taxi driver “was assaulted with a sharp edged weapon.”
The news release didn’t say how the knife was used or how the driver was injured, but his injuries are described as minor.
The accused man is to appear in provincial court Friday morning to face the charge.
