So, about that fake SaskPower employee in Montmartre …
In a media release Tuesday, SaskPower said the man who had prompted an RCMP warning on Sept. 23 actually was an employee of the Crown corporation.
“After looking further into the situation, we have determined this individual was in fact a SaskPower electrical inspector conducting legitimate business …,” SaskPower spokesman Joel Cherry said in the release.
“However, the message sent by the RCMP reminding the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious occurrences is a good safety message to always keep in mind.”
The incident that prompted the warning occurred Sept. 3, when a man with a SaskPower ID card appeared at a home and said he was there to do some electrical work.
When the homeowners said they hadn’t asked for the work to be done, the man said he had made a mistake and left.
