'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Saskatoon fire crews cut the roof off an SUV to free an elderly passenger following a Saturday morning collision.
Crews responded at 9:36 a.m. to the intersection of College Drive and Preston Avenue after a crash between an SUV and a truck.
The collision left the SUV on its side, trapping an elderly woman inside.
Crews stabilized the vehicle then removed the windshield and roof so paramedics could get access to her.
She was transported to hospital for further evaluation.
Once the rescue was complete the scene was turned over to Saskatoon police to investigate.
