A woman and her son awoke to smoke and alarm bells ringing in their west-side apartment Monday morning.
Saskatoon fire crews responded to a 911 call around 3 a.m. at the Avenue V building, located behind Manos Restaurant & Lounge on 22nd Street.
When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the third floor. They located the fire and extinguished it quickly before it spread.
Everyone in the building escaped without injury.
A fire investigator determined unattended cooking started a fire in the kitchen of the third floor suite. Smoke and fire damage was limited the suite and third floor hallway.
