The Biggar Fire Department is asking residents in the area to be on the lookout for a man impersonating members of their department.
In a Facebook post on Saturday evening, Biggar Fire said a rural resident had a person drive into their yard in a black car, claiming to be a member of the fire department.
The person was there to do an apparent safety inspection of the home following the Argo Bush fire last April.

“Please be advised this person is not one of our members, we would never do this as it is not legal,” the post read. “We also carry full identification with us to prove our member status if we were to only be invited to a property.”
RCMP have been notified of the encounter.
Biggar Fire Department is asking people not to let anyone on to their property for any inspection if there is any doubt whether the person is a member of the department.
