Police are investigating a house fire on a Saskatchewan reserve that killed a 16-year-old girl.
RCMP say she was found inside a home on the Beardy’s Okemasis Cree Nation Sunday afternoon.
According to a release, she was believed to be the lone occupant inside when the fire broke out. The house itself suffered minor damage.
The investigation into the cause and events leading up to the fire are being led by the RCMP Major Crimes Unit.
An autopsy on the body is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Cree Nation is located approximately 70 kilometres south west of Prince Albert.
