The NFL season is here and, after picking the Rams to play the Patriots last year, I feel pressure to get this right again.
The obvious pick is to go with the Rams or Saints to take on the Chiefs or Patriots but I’m not going to play it safe this year.
But after also predicting correctly that the St. Louis Blues would make it to the Stanley Cup final, I think I’m going to take a bigger risk this NFL season. It will likely blow up when the Patriots do make it back, again. But here goes.
In the NFC, I believe the change at coach will do nothing but good things for the Green Bay Packers. They were sick of Mike McCarthy, and Aaron Rodgers will have a healthy and more dynamic season with more chemistry built with young receivers and a star like Davante Adams.
The AFC sees the Jacksonville Jaguars — two years removed from a disappointing loss to the Patriots in the AFC championship game and then a terrible season last year — find their game with Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles at quarterback.
A strong run game, a good defence and a better quarterback will put the Jags back in the AFC championship game.
However, I’m still going to say Chiefs out of the AFC to face the Packers out of the NFC in Super Bowl LIV.
