Andrew Harris could win Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Canadian in the CFL.
But should he after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug?
Harris knew the rules, didn’t go through the proper channels to ensure what he was taking was clean, and got caught.
That’s his story.
Is it true? The one person who is the least trustworthy in sports is the athlete who has tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
The reactions are the usual ones of surprise and then the athletes say it was from something they weren’t aware had an illegal drug in it.
And it’s not that I don’t trust Harris’ story. But should he be on the stage in Calgary collecting awards, representing the best of the CFL in a season when he was taking something that had a trace anabolic steroid?
Some will continue to vote for him to win major awards this season.
I will not.
