It’s a sad time for those at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo, as it prepares to say goodbye to a beloved monkey.
Ma the capuchin monkey has been very ill for quite a while and has been in palliative care.
Zoo manager, Tim Sinclair-Smith, says Ma’s health has been getting worse, and the difficult decision was made to say a final goodbye next week.
Ma is believed to be 47 years old and has been at the zoo since 1974. The normal lifespan for a capuchin monkey in captivity is 40 years.
