The Hospital Home Lottery kicked off the fall campaign by unveiling the list of prizes, including the grand prize showhome.
The 3,300 square foot, $1.3 million dollar home is located in Greenbryre Estates.
“The details of what makes this grand prize showhome so incredible, what I love is the authentic barn wood accents, the amazing floating staircase, and the designer fireplace on the main floor,” said Arla Gustafson, CEO of the Royal University Hospital Foundation.
The early bird prize is a Candle Lake package, worth $700,000. It includes a cabin backing the 4th hole of the golf course and a pontoon boat.
“There are many amazing prizes, including luxury vehicles, world wide vacations, leisure experiences, and so much more,” said Gustafson.
The proceeds of the lottery benefit Saskatoon’s three acute care hospitals.
“At Royal University Hospital, proceeds will help support the $5M legacy fund for trauma care, supporting Saskatchewan’s trauma program that honours the lives lost and changed forever following the Apr. 6, 2018 Humboldt Broncos tragedy,” said Gustafson.
She said St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation will use the funding for the $20M ‘Close to Home’ campaign to build Saskatoon’s first free standing hospice, and dramatically improve end of life experiences for patients and their loved ones.
The Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation will use the proceeds to support the purchase of an automated medication dispensing system.
“It’s more efficient. It gets medication to patients faster, and automation means it’s much safer,” said Gustafson.
The showhome is at 102 Greenbryre Ave. It opens to the public on Saturday.
