A child is safe following an attempted vehicle theft just after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at a home on Madison Crescent.
The seven-year-old was asleep in a Toyota Highlander at the time, when the suspect stole the vehicle after it was left unattended.
The suspect abandoned the vehicle down the street and the child was found safe inside.
A track by the Saskatoon Police Service Canine Unit did not locate the suspect.
