Saskatoon could be dealing with some intense weather this weekend.
Terri Lang, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said high humidity levels could make temperatures feel as high as 35 C on Saturday and Sunday.
She said it’s important to take steps to stay safe in weather like this.
“(People should be) hydrating as much as possible, staying out of the sun as much as possible, seeking coolness where they can,” she recommended.
She said she understands that people will want to spend time in the heat.
“This is the time to go out and enjoy it, you just have to do it safely,” she told 650 CKOM.
She also warned of the possibility of thunderstorms this Sunday. She said severe weather predictions are hit and miss, but it’s good to be prepared.
“Pay attention to the skies, take shelter before it hits.”
