One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision near Shell Lake over the weekend.
Spiritwood RCMP said the crash happened on the intersection of highways 3 and 12 when a vehicle travelling west tried making a left turn onto Highway 12 before it was hit by a vehicle travelling east.
The passenger of the westbound vehicle, a 33-year-old woman, was rushed to Shellbrook Hospital where she died of her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was transported by STARS air ambulance to Saskatoon’s Royal University Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The 20-year-old driver of the eastbound vehicle was treated on scene for minor injuries before he was released.
Police are not releasing the name of the deceased as they continue their investigation.
Alcohol is considered to be a contributing factor.
