No injuries were reported in a train derailment near the towns of Kelliher and Ituna Saturday evening.
A media release from RCMP around 10:45 p.m. said the derailment eight kilometres southeast of Kelliher, near Highway 15, forced officers to set up a detour throughout Saturday night and into Sunday afternoon.
In an emailed statement sent to 650 CKOM on Sunday, CN Rail estimated the track will be operational between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday as clean up in the area continues. Six railcars derailed, forcing a block at one crossing. No dangerous goods, injuries or fires were reported.
Drivers are being told to remain cautious in the area, and to look out for workers cleaning the area.
Kelliher is located roughly 140 kilometres northeast of Regina.
