A Toronto man is travelling through Saskatchewan on his way across Canada on a unicycle.
Dave Cox said he’s taking the coast-to-coast trip in such a unique method just for fun.
He told Saskatchewan Afternoon’s David Kirton it’s an excellent way to see the country.
“Since I can ride a unicycle, it’s a great way to make new friends and have experiences that you might not have otherwise,” Cox said.
He said unicycling has many advantages over driving or flying.
“(There’s) knowing that I got there under my own power, and that sense of accomplishment … and even getting that everyday (sense of), ‘Cool, I made it that far,’ ” Cox said.
He started his journey in Victoria, B.C., in May. He plans to make it to St. John’s, N.L., by the end of August.
Cox told Kirton how he thinks he’ll be able to make time.
“I normally don’t brag about this, but I’m the 11th-fastest unicyclist in the world,” Cox said.
