12:00 – Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan are testing a new treatment that’s showing promise when it comes to reversing the symptoms of concussions, such as loss of balance, comprehension, sleep disruption, and the ability to walk straight. The treatment uses magnetic stimulation through a laptop-like device, and 20 minutes of exposure per day has improved the ability of rodents with concussions to navigate mazes, run on wheels, perform cognitive tests, and more. The research was recently published in the Journal of Neurotrauma, and lead researcher Prof. Changiz Taghibiglou joins Drew now to talk about the research.
