A young Saskatchewan man is dead after trying to break up a fight.
On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., La Loche RCMP responded to a complaint about a fight between two adults near a recreation area in the community. That’s when police say 19-year-old Dawson Herman stepped in to break it up.
Instead, a man turned on Herman and started assaulting him.
Herman was rushed to hospital but died shortly after getting there. An autopsy has been ordered.
Jones Herman, 22, was arrested shortly after midnight on Sunday. He made his first appearance on a charge of second-degree murder in La Loche Provincial Court on Monday.
The investigation is continuing.
