Early Sunday morning, Saskatoon police were called to a robbery in progress at the Circle K on Kenderdine Road and Kerr Road.
Around 4:45 a.m., an employee called the police and said two men wearing masks armed with either a knife or an axe were inside the store.
The employee told police the men took cigarettes and a staff member’s cellphone before they left.
Officers spotted the suspects’ vehicle nearby and were able to stop it. In a media release, police said they found cigarettes, masks and an axe inside the vehicle.
Two 19-year-old men were arrested and now face charges including robbery.
