Saskatoon Police used Tasers to try and arrest a man in the Buena Vista neighbourhood Saturday.
A media release from Police said officers were called to the house in the 400 block of 5 Street East just before 11 p.m. where a man was “acting strangely.”
When officers arrived and entered the home, the man moved towards the officers while swinging a weapon. Police used Tasers to control the man, but they were ineffective.
The 45-year-old man is facing five counts of assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with a conditional sentence order.
He was transported to hospital for medial assessment after he was apprehended.
Saskatoon police will review the incident to comply with policy.
