Fire investigators say they found evidence an early morning blaze at a Saskatoon apartment building was set on purpose.
Firefighters were called to the building on Avenue P South near 22nd Street shortly before 7 a.m. Monday.
They arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from a second-floor window on the building’s south-facing side.
A man in his 30’s was pulled unconscious from the suite where the fire originated. He was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
Firefighters were able to keep the blaze contained to just the one suite and had the flames extinguished shortly after they arrived.
Damage from the fire was estimated at $30,000.
Other residents evacuated from the building were allowed back inside once firefighters determined it was safe.
