A 22-year-old man faces several charges in an incident that led to him being tasered by police Thursday evening.
Two officers walking along Spadina Crescent East spotted a suspicious looking man near parked cars, according to a media release.
The man tried to hide from officers but eventually ran, dropping a bag with what’s believed to be stolen items inside.
As officers got closer they said the man turned toward them and started being aggressive.
Believing the man could have a weapon an officer used a taser.
The man was checked out by medical personnel as a precaution.
He is now in custody and faces charges of possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon and assault.
