A 27-year-old man faces charges after a disturbance at an Avenue S South home on Sunday afternoon.
Police responded around 2 p.m. to the home just northwest of St Paul’s Hospital.
Officers determined a man had been in an altercation with several people inside the house.
According to police, the man got aggressive when officers tried to arrest him.
They tried to use a taser, but when it wasn’t effective an officer used pepper spray to subdue the suspect.
During the investigation, police discovered he had a smartphone that was reported stolen nearby.
The 27-year-old faces charges including robbery and breach of probation.
The incident is set to be reviewed as part of Saskatoon police policy.
