A simple jaywalking ticket turned into much more for two Saskatoon men.
A 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were stopped by police at around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Avenue W South.
Police learned the 23-year-old was wanted on a number of warrants. When officers arrested him, they found him to be in possession of a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, bear spray and a prohibited knife. He was charged with numerous firearm and weapons offences.
Police found the 30-year-old to be in possession of a large knife that he was trying to conceal in his waistband. He’s facing two weapons charges.
The men made their first court appearances Friday morning.
