8:30 – Finance Minister Donna Harpauer introduced a balanced budget yesterday in Regina. The 2019 Saskatchewan budget includes a $34.4 million surplus, with revenue expected to increase 5.5 per cent and expenses to increase by 2.6 per cent over 2018. The budget includes significant spending in healthcare, mental health, municipal revenue sharing, and no new taxes or major cuts. Harpauer joins John now to discuss the budget and the financial future of the province.

10:30 – MP Candice Bergen had harsh words for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during question period Wednesday, accusing Trudeau of firing and silencing Jody Wilson-Raybould. Bergen, along with fellow female MP Michelle Rempel, attacked Trudeau’s feminist brand, saying he yells and screams at women and called him a fake feminist. Trudeau responded, saying he wouldn’t take lessons from Conservatives on defending women’s rights. Bergen joins John now to explain why she thinks the prime minister isn’t a real feminist.

12:00 – The Saskatchewan Aviation Museum, located at the Saskatoon airport, is working to recover a Cessna 180 float plane from the bottom of Peter Pond Lake. The plane crashed in the late ’50s with both people on board killed, and sat at the bottom of the lake until it was located last summer using sonar. Now the museum is hoping to restore and display the plane as part of Saskatchewan’s aviation history. To explain more about the museum and its project, John is joined by museum director Don Macpherson.
