People in Saskatchewan stepped up to ring those phones for the province’s favourite annual telethon.
Telemiracle 43 wrapped up Sunday at TCU Place in Saskatoon after raising $5,619,214 over the course of the weekend.
A big thank you to all the donations. Without you this would not be possible! #Telemiracle43 See you next year at #Telemiracle44 pic.twitter.com/EaJJw39mpQ

The total fell short of last year’s record of $7,151,256.
All money raised in the telethon goes towards the Kinsmen Telemiracle foundation, which provides special needs equipment, access to medical assistance and support to people in Saskatchewan.
In 2017, the last time the Telemiracle was held in Saskatoon, the telethon raised just over $5 million. The first telethon in 1977 raised more than $1 million and then passed the $2 million mark for the first time in 1983.
Each year Telemiracle alternates host cities with Regina.
