For the 43rd year in a row, Saskatchewan will be asked to “ring those phones!”
The Kinsmen Telemiracle fundraising telethon starts Saturday night at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
Telemiracle chair Adam Logue told The Brent Loucks Show it’s always a major endeavour to get the production put together.
“We have a committee of about 18 volunteers who’ve been working on this year’s show since the last one finished,” he said.
This year’s edition of Telemiracle will feature dozens of musical acts, including Fred Penner, Jess Moskaluke and Jeffery Straker.
Logue said the fundraiser’s tried-and-true formula has brought in around $130 million since it began in 1977, with those funds going to help people in need get specialized medical equipment and treatment.
“We keep hearing so many of those amazing stories of people, they always tell us about what they remember watching the very first one.”
Donations can be made by phone during the telethon, or online through the Telemiracle website.
