Ever wondered if you have what it takes to be an Olympian?
Here’s your chance. RBC Training Ground makes a stop in Saskatoon on Saturday.
Local athletes will get the chance to test their strength, speed, power and endurance in front of Olympic scouts looking for raw talent in various sports.
“It could lead to finding yourself on an Olympic dream,” said program spokesman Brian Findlay.
The program is designed to bring new athletes into Canada’s Olympic pool and support their training.
Since 2015, a total of $1.3 million has been doled out to more than 80 promising athletes across Canada.
“We call them hidden gems, these athletes who have never considered an Olympic sport but because of the event and testing find themselves involved in that sport,” Findlay said.
The free tryout is open to anyone ages 14 to 25. It runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre.
The combine in Saskatoon is one of 35 set to happen across the country in 2019.
