A portion of Circle Drive South was re-opened late Thursday morning after being closed for several hours following a multi-vehicle crash.
Firefighters were called out to the scene west of the Gordie Howe Bridge around 7:40 a.m.
A fire department media release stated the collision involved 12 vehicles and a semi truck.
Tiera Cardinal told 650 CKOM she witnessed the crash and that road conditions were slippery at the time.
“I seen two vehicles up in the front that both collided with the bridge wall. I seen a semi that was there up against the wall and a few vehicles smashed beside it,” she said.
Police reported a woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All other injuries in the crash were described as minor.
Firefighters stayed at the scene to clean up leaked fluids and debris from the vehicles involved in the crash.
Police reported the road was re-opened to traffic at 10:30 a.m.
